Notes:CD comes in a 4 panel glossy digipack showing some of the 33 Lethe paintings.
Album presents a unique painting+music project by Lituanian painter and musician Artūras Šlipavičius (co-founder of avantgarde rock pioneers I.V.T.K.Y.G.Y.G.) and famous jazz virtuoso Vytautas Labutis.
This surreal musical journey takes one to a mysterious, yet adventurous and perty world of Lethe - an esoteric city, a state with its subordinate laws and spiritual hierarchy, a tiny fragile gap between two worlds. Inspired by Tibetan Book of the Dead and Plato, performed with dozen of classical and exotic instruments and chorus, this album shows the eternal urge of the man to comprehend space, time and infinity.
"Lethe City" was the third part of duo's musical series "Ex-Bition". First chapter was released on cassette in 1987, and the second part titled "Haruspicija" was published in 2006 on CD.
